These photos show the people at the ball with a Pirates theme at Preston Town Hall on 12 July 2008.

If you scroll down past a few decoration and dancing photos you will get to some of those who attended facing the camera.

If you would like to learn the dances so that you can join in our next ball then follow the link in the sidebar to Dance Classes.

There were masterpiece paintings around the hall.

Then there is the obligatory pirate treasure!

There were plenty of eye patches, skull-bones, swords, knives, guns, parrots, etc.

Captain Brett is ready to welcome "all aboard" ...

... then set a course.

There were the young.....

......the very young.....

.... and a wide age-range.

An excerpt from the Grand March ...

... and another one ...

... is there maybe ...

... a confrontation looming ??

There was a vigorous display of pirate sword fighting.

What would a display with a
Pirate theme be without captives?

Tinkerbell came along ...

... and almost died trying to sort things out.

Margaret narrated the story.

The display team prepares to bow.

The Pirate theme enabled some
aggression to be photographed.

More aggression!!

Ray (in the middle) is hard to pick.

There were no reported casualties,
but Chris is barely recognisable.

Coral calls out the dance instructions while the music is provided by the Blackberry Jam Bush Band.
The band were joined by some additional musicians, and the outstanding result pleased the dancers.

The outstanding supper pleased everyone.

Pam and Matt from Adelaide were
among our interstate visitors.

John came down from Canberra for this ball. Here he consoles a pirate of another era who seems to think that he's at the wrong place.
